LEAD Team

The FIU LEAD Team are ambassadors for the Center for Leadership & Service. They do presentations at First Year Experience classes (SLS) and attend Orientations and University events on behalf of the office to promote all our wonderful programs, events and services. Their other main project is facilitating the weekend retreat portion of the Academy of Leaders (AOL). They are experts in everything CLS does and are motivated, enthusiastic and passionate FIU Golden Panthers!
The LEAD Team are highly trained students who facilitate icebreakers, teambuilders, retreats and debrief sessions. See below for RD 2012 in action!

The LEAD Team is a student group of leadership consultants that provide student clubs and organizations with presentations and activities to help enhance their organizational effectiveness. Workshop topics include motivation, group cohesion, communications, effective leadership skills, and more!

The LEAD Team also assists faculty by conducting classroom sessions addressing group dynamics, team building, communications, conflict management, group decision-making, and similar topics. LEAD Team Application Guidelines:

  1. You must have a 2.50 or higher All-College cumulative grade point average by the time of application for the position.
  2. Maintain enrollment in at least 3 credit hours per semester (Fall and Spring)
  3. All applicants for LEAD Team are required to have completed one of the following programs in order to be eligible for selection:
  • Academy of Leaders
  • Alternative Breaks Committee or Executive Board
  • Dance Marathon Committee or Executive Board
  • Relay for Life Committee or Executive Board
  • Peer Advising (completed)
  • Panther Camp Facilitator (completed)
