The Academy of Leaders (AOL) is a structured leadership development certification program for students. AOL is the premier leadership development program for FIU students. AOL teaches leadership competencies through educational seminars, experiential exercises, and practical application. Students participate in intensive training sessions that focus on building the following competencies: personal empowerment, diversity awareness/inclusion, organizational development, and civic responsibility. Students put their knowledge to work in a service-learning project designed to yield tangible results for the University and/or local community. As part of a service team, students apply leadership concepts and skills to select, organize, and implement this group project.
CLS will certify an AOL “class” of students each Fall and Spring semester. Applications are available online on each tracks page.
